Mosque, palace and tower

Six hours from your Abu Dhabi hotel or the Port Zayed cruise terminal: the Grand Mosque, the Qasr Al Watan presidential palace and the Etihad Towers deck. Pick it for the tickets, all three included, and for skipping the three-hour round trip from Dubai.

From Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Royal Palace & Etihad Tower

About this experience

This is the Abu Dhabi version of OceanAir's big day tour from Dubai. You're picked up at your hotel, at Port Zayed or at the Premier Inn by the airport, and some guests are driven by car to join the group coach. The plan: about 90 minutes at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a drive along the Corniche past Emirates Palace, 30 minutes on the Etihad Towers deck and about 90 minutes at Qasr Al Watan. It runs as a shared tour in English, Spanish, Italian or French.

Everything that costs money at the gates is included: the mosque entry ticket (which covers the AED 8 tour-operator fee charged since September 2026), access to the palace and its gardens, and the tower deck. Women borrow an abaya and scarf. Men are lent nothing, so long trousers and a shirt with sleeves are a must, with tattoos covered. If Qasr Al Watan shuts for a presidential event, the listing swaps in Qasr Al Hosn or the Heritage Village.

The catches. Drop-off can run 30 to 45 minutes late, and one guest's five-hour day became eight when the Abu Dhabi group was joined to the Dubai one. Guests mention long queues at the palace and the mosque, and one review says it isn't for limited fitness. It isn't recommended in pregnancy, lunch is at your own cost, and guides aren't allowed inside Qasr Al Watan: yours briefs you before the shuttle bus.

  • About 90 minutes at the mosque with a licensed guide
  • Mosque, palace and tower tickets included
  • Pickup at Port Zayed for cruise passengers
  • Guided in English, Spanish, Italian or French
  • Abaya and scarf lent to women

We were provided with plenty of bottled water and an Hijab for the ladies although if you wear long trousers/dress with a head scarf this would be considered appropriate dress without the need for a Hijab.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was absolutely stunning, with enough time to enjoy and take photos. The Corniche drive and views of Emirates Palace were beautiful, and the stop at Etihad Towers offered great city views.

Very well organised tour, I took it with my 7yo son, we had a great time! [...] They took an extra step to pick us up at our hotel (that wasn't on their pickup location list), sent a driver with a car for us who drove us to the location where we joined bus tour.

Tips before you book

  • Cruise passengers: allow for a drop-off up to 45 minutes late before your all-aboard time.
  • Men: full-length trousers and sleeves. Shorts mean refused entry, and nothing is lent to men.
  • Choose your language when you book; it's set per departure.
  • Have lunch money ready: the stop is at your own cost.
  • Large bags are a nuisance in the visitor centre queue. Leave them at the hotel or on the ship.

Frequently asked questions

Which tickets are included on the tour from Abu Dhabi?

All three: the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque entry ticket (covering the AED 8 tour-operator fee charged since September 2026), Qasr Al Watan with its gardens, and the Etihad Towers deck. See the tickets and hours guide.

What happens if Qasr Al Watan is closed?

The palace can close without notice for presidential events. The listing says it's then replaced with Qasr Al Hosn or the Heritage Village, whichever is open that day. Check Qasr Al Watan's website a day ahead.

Can cruise passengers join from Port Zayed?

Yes, pickup at the Abu Dhabi cruise terminal is included. Keep a margin: drop-off can run 30 to 45 minutes behind schedule. Few ships call in 2026-27, as our cruise season post explains.

What are the child ages?

Children aged 4 to 11 pay the child rate and adults from 12. Infants sit on laps.
