Mosque, palace and skyline

A six-hour shared tour from Abu Dhabi hotels and Port Zayed to the Grand Mosque, the Qasr Al Watan presidential palace and the Etihad Towers deck. Pick it if you'd like the tour in German, Spanish, Italian or French as well as English.

From Abu Dhabi: Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan Palace & Etihad Tower

About this experience

Sold under privatedubaitours.com, this follows the same three-sight plan as OceanAir's tour from Abu Dhabi: about 90 minutes at the Grand Mosque, a drive along the Corniche past Emirates Palace (outside only), 30 minutes on the Etihad Towers deck and about 90 minutes at Qasr Al Watan. A car collects you in Abu Dhabi, and guests say they often meet the rest of the group, arriving from Dubai, at the mosque. Departures run in English, German, Spanish, Italian and French.

The tickets that matter are included: the mosque entry ticket (so the AED 8 tour-operator fee charged since September 2026 is covered), entry to Qasr Al Watan and the tower deck. Women borrow an abaya and scarf; men are lent nothing and must cover knees and shoulders, with tattoos covered. Your guide can't go inside Qasr Al Watan and briefs you before you enter. If the palace closes for a presidential event, the listing swaps in the Louvre Abu Dhabi, subject to availability. Ignore the mosque hours printed on the listing: they still say 10 pm, and the official visiting hours end at 8:30 pm.

Cruise passengers are collected from outside the Port Zayed gate, not inside the terminal. One guest in 2023 waited two hours in the terminal for a driver who never came, so confirm the exact spot by WhatsApp the day before. Few ships call in 2026-27 (see our cruise season post). Weather can cancel the tour too, as happened to one guest in 2024. Large bags aren't allowed.

  • Qasr Al Watan and Etihad deck tickets included
  • Guided in English, German, Spanish, Italian or French
  • Pickup at Port Zayed for cruise passengers
  • Abaya and scarf lent to women

What guests say

★★★★★

This is a brilliant way to learn about Abu Dhabi and see the real gems. The best 3 things to do the tower view, the real Palace (not the hotel) and the Grand Mosque. The Palace was the highlight absolutely stunning.

They picked me up and dropped me off at the mosque, where we waited for the tour guide and the group to arrive from Dubai. The guide, Hamsa, was knowledgeable and understanding of everyone's needs.

Ahmed got us in quickly to all attractions and helped us secure a great lunch despite limited time. He was very accommodating and particularly gracious with a disabled participant on our tour.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from OceanAir's tour from Abu Dhabi?

The sights, the timing and the inclusions are almost the same. This one adds German, and if Qasr Al Watan closes it swaps in the Louvre, where OceanAir's version uses Qasr Al Hosn or the Heritage Village. Pick on language and date.

Which tickets are included?

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque entry ticket (covering the AED 8 tour-operator fee charged since September 2026), Qasr Al Watan and the Etihad Towers deck. Lunch and tips are extra. The tickets and hours guide has more.

Do you go inside Emirates Palace?

No. The tour drives past and you see it from outside; entry inside is excluded.

Are the mosque hours on the listing correct?

No, they're out of date. The mosque is open to visitors Saturday to Thursday 9 am to 8:30 pm (last entry 8 pm), and on Friday 9 to 11:30 am and 2:30 to 8:30 pm.
