Private Abu Dhabi City Tour from Dubai

About this experience

The listing doesn't name the company. Guests mostly mention ZU Tours, and drivers such as Ahsan, Ali and Zar Muhammad come up again and again. What you get is a driver-guide: he explains on the road and at each stop, drops you at the entrance and picks you up when you message. Inside the mosque you walk on your own, and one guest wrote plainly that the tour "did not include a guide" and he didn't miss one. If you want commentary in the prayer hall, join the mosque's own free cultural tour (30 to 45 minutes, in English or Arabic, at 11 am, 1 pm and 5 pm from Saturday to Thursday).

Entry to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Emirates Palace and the Heritage Village is included, so the AED 8 tour-operator fee the mosque charges since September 2026 is covered. The Louvre Abu Dhabi and Qasr Al Watan are optional at about $20 each, close to the AED 65 you pay at the gate. Book them through the operator's own booking chat: one guest bought palace and museum tickets from someone who contacted him separately and paid more than double. The car itself is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Two warnings from guests. The "art museum" and the date and chocolate shop on the plan are sales stops, so ask to skip them if shopping isn't your thing. And not every stop opens every day: the Louvre is closed on Mondays, and one family found the Heritage Village shut for a bike race. Guests who left Dubai around 8 am, or went on a Sunday, report light traffic and short queues at the mosque.

  • About 2 hours at the mosque, longer if you like
  • Mosque, Emirates Palace and Heritage Village entry included
  • The Louvre and Qasr Al Watan as add-ons
  • A wheelchair- and stroller-accessible car
  • Hotel or airport pickup, handy for a layover

What guests say

★★★★★

The Mosque was the highlight of the day, it is stunning. Just so you know, there is a shop that you can buy reasonably priced clothing in if required. They will not let you in if you do not meet their dress code.

While determining our schedule, he was very accommodating and flexible and allowed us to pick the places we were most interested in visiting and skip over the places that were less interesting to us. At each destination we were allowed to explore at our own pace and then return to the car.

We were a family of seven, including four senior citizens and an infant, which meant our itinerary required several modifications and special accommodations to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free experience for everyone. Ali handled everything with great patience and professionalism

The driver was prepared and loaned me a robe(abaya) for entry. [...] Waqas provided our entry tickets via What's App. [...] Note that The Louvre is closed on Mondays.

Tips before you book

  • Leave by 8 am or go on a Sunday. Guests who did found light traffic and short queues.
  • Say at pickup which stops you don't want. Dropping the art gallery saves you an hour of sales pitch.
  • Women: your driver may have an abaya to lend, but bring an ankle-length skirt or wide trousers, long sleeves and a scarf anyway.
  • Add the Louvre or Qasr Al Watan at booking. Popular add-ons such as teamLab can sell out by the afternoon.
  • Buy add-on tickets only through the operator's booking chat, never from someone who contacts you on the side.

Frequently asked questions

Who runs the private Abu Dhabi tour from Dubai?

The listing doesn't name the company. Most guests mention ZU Tours and a driver-guide who contacts them on WhatsApp before pickup. Give a WhatsApp number when you book: one guest whose number wasn't on WhatsApp had a 20-minute late start.

Is the Grand Mosque entry fee included on the private tour?

Yes. The inclusions list entry to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which covers the AED 8 per person charged to visitors with a tour operator since September 2026. Emirates Palace and the Heritage Village are included too.

Does a guide come inside the mosque with us?

Usually not. Your driver-guide explains on the way and waits while you visit. For commentary inside, join the mosque's free cultural tour, which costs nothing, or book a private mosque guide.

Is the $199 per person?

No. It's the price for the car and driver, for up to six people. Lunch and the optional Louvre and Qasr Al Watan tickets are extra.
