OceanAir Travels · Dubai
A half-day trip from Dubai with a single stop: about two hours at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque with a licensed guide. Take the afternoon run and you see the white marble in daylight, at sunset and lit up after dark.

OceanAir runs this twice a day. Morning pickup is between 8:00 and 8:45 am, afternoon pickup between 3:30 and 4:15 pm, and you should be in the lobby at the start of the window. A car or van brings you to the main group, then it's about 90 minutes to Abu Dhabi. At the mosque you get about two hours: security and ticket scans in the underground visitor centre, the courtyard, the arcades, the main prayer hall and the designated photo stops. Most groups finish with free time in Souq Al Jami, the mall under the visitor centre. Door to door, it's five to six hours.
On tickets, the listing is unclear. The itinerary marks mosque admission as included, but the inclusion list doesn't name a ticket, and since September 2026 visitors with a tour operator pay AED 8 each. Ask in the booking chat. Guests say women can borrow a clean abaya on board, though the listing doesn't promise it, and there's time to buy an abaya or scarf in the souk before you go in. The tipping kitty is extra.
Know the format before you book. The listing allows up to 200 travellers, so expect feeder vans and a coach rather than a minibus, even if some guests had a group of five. One guest's pickup was moved to a central hotel the evening before, and another's tour was cancelled when she couldn't leave two hours early. In Ramadan, visiting hours change and groups leave earlier. The afternoon run works on Fridays too, as the mosque reopens to visitors at 2:30 pm.
8:00 to 8:45 am for the morning run, 3:30 to 4:15 pm for the afternoon. Some guests are shuttled to a central meeting point first.
The guide covers the founding of the UAE and points out landmarks on the way.
Ticket scans in the visitor centre, then the courtyard, the arcades and the main prayer hall, with time at the photo stops.
Free time in the underground mall for food, souvenirs or a scarf.
Drop-off at your hotel, five to six hours after pickup.
★★★★★Ahmed was very informative and told us a lot about the mosque and on UAE. Additionally he gave the freedom for people to do their own thing if they preferred. There was also time before entering the mosque to buy abayas or scarves in case what you’re wearing doesn't cover enough.
★★★★★If you are limited on time and just want to see this beautiful Mosque. This evening tour is excellent. [...] You will get the best daylight, sunset, and night photos and not have to stay all day.
★★★★★Be prepared for lots of queues, that do move pretty efficiently, but, sharing just to set expectations of the experience. Muhammad was great at always getting us through the lines
★★★★★Nadine went the extra mile to help me enter the mosque by running back & purchasing a black jilbab when suddenly my white clothes were deemed not suitable. (Too translucent )

The itinerary marks admission as included, but the inclusion list doesn't name the ticket. Since September 2026 the mosque charges AED 8 per visitor arriving with a tour operator, so confirm in the booking chat. The tickets and hours guide explains the fee.
The afternoon, for most people. Guests rate the sunset and the lighting highest, and it's less hot. Take the morning if you need your evening, and eat before you leave. The best time to visit guide goes into detail.
The listing allows up to 200 travellers, so it runs as a coach tour with feeder vans from the hotels. Some guests still report small groups on quiet days.
Guests say yes: a clean abaya to borrow and return, though the listing doesn't promise it. The National reports that the mosque itself no longer lends abayas and sells them for about AED 45, so if in doubt, wear loose clothes to the ankles and wrists and bring a headscarf, or buy one in the souk.
